I'm sure by now a lot of you have seen the picture or video of the lab at its master's funeral, a SEAL who was killed recently in Afghanastan. If you didn't find it heartbreaking, then I mean it when I say this, you must be very cold hearted.
That picture and video remind me of the movie I watched recently, "Hachy, A Dog's Story." I'm not sure I spelled the name correctly, but it's the story about an Akita that would go to a train station each day to meet his master after he returned from work. The dog returned to that same spot every day, even after his master died. It's based on a true story that happened in Japan back in the 20s. The dog had the same name. It was so sad, I cried seeing his dedication to his master to the end. This is why it's so appropriate that dog is God spelled backwards.
Another sad story, actually it makes me mad. Apparently the mayor of New York has dis-invited the NYFD, NYPD, and the EMTs to the ceremony for the tenth anniversary of 9/11. The mayor said that the ceremony is for the families of those lost and that there isn't enough room. Some of their own lost their lives that day too and we all know what a tight knit community the NYFD, NYPD, and the EMTs are. They are like a family.
I don't know how many politicians were invited besides the president and former president George Bush, but they should be the ones dis-invited, not those groups. I hope they show up anyway.
