The Crud Has Hit

Whatever is going around came around to the Ballard household.

At first I thought that I was going to be spared, but alas, it was not to be. I think that because I spend less time around people, I may have caught it worse than Dave or David, at least it feels that way. I have been blowing, hacking, and just being overall miserable for about two weeks now, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am starting to feel better.

I have actually been able to go a whole night for two nights now without being woken up by a coughing spell, but it could also be because of how heavily medicated I have been. Dave even said last night whatever I did the night before, to do it again because not only was I able to sleep, but so was he. At least that's what I'm guessing anyway.

Unfortunately now that I'm starting to feel better, the weather has decided that hey, it's still February and not May, so has decided to change to reflect that fact, just in time for our anniversary. Oh well, it seems to happen every year. It will get nice again though, of that I'm sure.

Super Bowl LI

Congratulations to the new England Patriots. But I will admit, I wanted the Falcons to win.

Oh well, the Steelers almost made it this year. Here's hoping they do next year and win their seventh!

Happy Ground Hog Day

Boy, for someone who said that I was going to try to post more, I haven't been very good at it, have I?

Anyway, first thing's first, happy ground hog day. Apparently Phil saw his shadow, so six more weeks of winter. Duh! There would be even if he didn't see his shadow.

How has your's been so far? Ours has been pretty mild as far as snow goes. We've had some pretty cold temps, but snow amounts have been pretty scarce. That kind of sucks because I got a new pair of cross country skis and boots and haven't been able to use them, but I don't like super cold temps, so I probably wouldn't have gone outside anyway. We did have one ice storm which made things slick, our road in front of our house looked like an ice skating rink.
Needless to say, we didn't go anywhere that day. Dave even stayed home from work. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as the last time, but the same can't be said for those further south.

I finally decided to upgrade my phone because my old one wasn't keeping a charge. I had a Samsung S 5 for almost four years and was debating on going with the S 7, but instead chose an IPhone 7 and I have to tell you that I'm really liking it. It's easier to use than I thought it would be and some of the features, like adding affects to text messages is really cool. I can see why it's so popular.

All of us have been sick for the last week or so. Dave was the first, he caught a cold at work, then me and then David. During the day I'm not too bad, but then I start coughing right when I'm about ready to fall asleep, so it takes me awhile until the cough medicine I bought kicks in. David sounds like he's about ready to hack up a lung. I keep trying to tell him that he needs to take better care of himself, but he takes it as my nagging, so I've tried to keep my opinions to myself. He did buy himself some cough medicine, so as far as being sick, it's a step in the right direction. Dave is almost over his, so hopefully all of us will be soon.

Other than the above mentioned, everything else is normal, except that I still haven't gone back to the gym. I keep saying I'll start back next week, but when next week comes, I make an excuse not to go. This week it was being sick and not wanting to spread germs, but I do have to go back soon or cancel my membership. I really need to decide soon.

Anyway, hope you all have a nice day and those of you who are somewhere where it's cold, try to stay warm.

I promise that I will post more this month.
