Happy Valentine's Day to all of my Family and Friends!
Who would've thought when we got married, Dave and I would be living on a small, okay, very small ranch (three acres worth) in South Central Iowa years later? Not me, that's for sure! But here we are living on our little pony ranch. We no longer have any ponies, but we used to have three, so we, okay I did, but Dave agreed, suitably named the place, "Ain't Many Acres Pony Ranch." We love it here.

Eagle Watching From My Living Room Window
How convenient is that?
That's what I've been able to do for the last week. We've had about a dozen bald eagles hanging around our property for the last couple weeks and the other day I decided to see if I could take a picture with my little Kodak Easy Share 12 pixel camera. This is the result.
This one was in a group of trees I don't know how far west of the house, but we are able to see them from our living room window. There was another with it earlier, but that one flew to another location.
Okay, this one was taken from my car but it was right before I pulled into our driveway. The eagle was sitting in trees north of our garage which is right next to our north property line.
Seeing the eagles is the biggest highlight of our winters around here. It's also one of the things I love about living here.

Just Shut Up and Let Me Be Mad!
Yesterday I had stripped the bed, washed everything that had to go back on it, blanket, quilt, etc. I was happy, in a great mood and looking forward to going to bed in a newly made one.
Zoom to last night, I go in for something, not ready to go to bed just yet and what do I notice, one of two out of four of the cats had thrown up on the bed. 'mad'
The reason I said one of two is because the only cats that sleep on our bed during the day are Oreo and Patches, so I knew it had to be one of them. Okay, it wasn't that bad, so I cleaned it up and went back into the living room.
Zoom to bedtime; I go to brush my teeth and to generally get ready for bed. I glance at the bed and disaster, they did it again only this time worse! I couldn't just clean it off, I would have to change the quilt.
I lost it, meaning I had a freakin' fit! Let the tantrum begin! I was cussing and screaming. I was raising hell! I had just finished getting it all nice several hours before and now I had to put on a new quilt.
I went to the dryer where the previous quilt was and it wasn't totally dry; another angry tantrum. Dave came over and tried to hold me the whole time telling me to calm down, not what I wanted to hear! I pushed pass him, went back into the bedroom and screamed, "How come everyone else can get mad, but I can't?!" He actually told me to take it outside. The audacity!
Oh yeah, in the process of my fit, I also told David that he had better turn in his phone, which he is supposed to do at 10:00 each night otherwise he would stay on it all night, or I would break the damn thing. Dave told him that he'd better do as I said, smart man.
Anyway, I had another quilt that I was able to put on the bed and did later apologize to Dave, but damn, I felt good after. I had been frustrated for awhile and just needed to let off steam and explode. It was a long time coming. I mean, it's not like I threw and broke anything, not that I didn't want to.

Be Careful of What You Wish For Or Four Wheelin' in a Front Wheel Drive Car
I
really need to be careful of what I wish for.
Last week I wished that we would get a decent snow fall, Saturday night into Sunday we got nine inches. When they plowed the roads they didn't throw down any gravel like they used to and the snow left on them turned to ice This morning we got another three or so inches, plus heavy winds.
When we get heavy winds, the road that ours connects onto gets a snow drift that until you get right up to it, you don't realize how deep it is.
Well, my car is now sitting in at least two feet of snow that even our neighbor with his 4x4 truck couldn't get me out of.
He also told me that if I called the county and they were in the area, they would pull me out. Well guess what, I called and they're not in this area.
I really should have known better. 'sigh'
The county called me back and said the driver cleared around my car. Well, he cleared in front of it, but not behind. Luckily for me, the mail carrier had just stopped at our house when I was walking up to get it, so he helped me dig out around it and get the car out.
I went down the other road and turned around and who do I see stuck where I was before, but Dave. I tried backing up and yep, you guessed it, got stuck again.
Dave got himself out and tried to get me out and after a couple hours, was finally able to. We went south down the other road I turned around on and after four wheeling in our front wheel drive cars, made it home about ten minutes ago. Needless to say, we probably got enough exercise to last us until spring.
Next time I'll know better.

Finally!
A decent snowfall, but unfortunately along with it we're now getting blizzard conditions thanks to high winds.
We did end up getting around seven or so inches though. We should end upo with some pretty high snowdrifts.
Dave had David call off from work so that neither of us had to drive him to work. Last night Dave was supposed to pick him up, but David called at 9:00 and said that he didn't know when he was getting out and would take a cab home. He didn't get home until 12:30. Don't know why it took that long since he said that the cab got there about 10:30, unless the driver had a couple stops to make first and also took his time due to the conditions. David said that they were pretty bad. Thank God he made it home safe.
The scraper just came up our road. I wasn't expecting it until tomorrow. He even scraped the end of the driveway.
Anyway, here are a few pictures I took this morning before it started blowing around.
