It's supposed to rain every day this week until Friday. I can't really complain though because we had next to no snow all winter and we need the moisture. I hate the cloudy days though. I like sunshine. I get mopey when there is no sun and rainy days does not make for good road conditions around here.
We live on a gravel road, if you want to call it that. During rainy days it's more mud than gravel. It's not even worth washing your car because it's just going to get dirty as soon as you hit the gravel road. And when I say dirty, I mean dirty! I need to take a picture to show you just how dirty I mean.
It's hard sometimes to tell what color my car is. The bad thing is that it's silver which when it gets dirty, it just looks dirty, not silver and dirty, but dirty all over. The color just blends in with the dirt. Hopefully this weekend I'll finally be able to wash it. Keep your fingers crossed.
Who would've thought when we got married, Dave and I would be living on a small, okay, very small ranch (three acres worth) in South Central Iowa years later? Not me, that's for sure! But here we are living on our little pony ranch. We no longer have any ponies, but we used to have three, so we, okay I did, but Dave agreed, suitably named the place, "Ain't Many Acres Pony Ranch." We love it here.

Happy First Day of Spring!
It's here! But with the weather the way it's been, it looked like it had been here several times already.
Do you know that it was 88 degrees yesterday in Kansas City, 90 in North Platte? The last day of winter and it was like summer in some places!
It wasn't that warm here, only got into the high 60's, maybe 70, but it was still warmer than it was supposed to be. But, we have had snow as late as the first of May, so it is possible that we can still get it. In the meantime though, the farmers are getting their fields ready for planting and the birds have returned. All except the vultures, haven't seen them yet, but I'm sure they're on their way.

Bad Storms Last Night
There were bad storms here in Iowa yesterday and last night with several tornadoes causing damage. Thankfully none touched down here, but we did have a severe storm come through with hail. We had gotten up to 75 and it was sunny earlier which added fuel to the fire, as they say.
Today all is calm, except the wind. We are under a wind advisory and a red flag warning for extreme fire conditions because of the wind. It's also been dry despite the rain we got yesterday which added to it. The temp is supposed to be twenty degrees colder and they're predicting snow for this weekend. Looks like winter is letting us known that it's not over yet.
