I was worried, Dave was worried, we both were, but couldn't figure out what was wrong. I wondered if maybe something triggered a memory from before he came to us. He was dumped up the road from our house and followed Dave and Rolli home from their walk. That was almost five years ago and he was only around 12 weeks of age.
When I posted the question on a message board I belong to, everyone pretty much said that it could be the reason, someone also added that he could be in pain somewhere. A lot of people told stories of their pets showing years later that they were afraid of something.

Anyway, Max acted that way for two days. Finally on Wednesday he started to act a little like his old self again, not entirely but getting there, but was still a little skittish when Dave came home.Yesterday, he finally had his zoom back. How did I know this? He roo-rooed me when I got up after giving me good morning kisses. The sure way of knowing that Max has his zoom back is when he roo-roos you and he goes zooming out the back door when you open it. Yesterday he not only went zooming out the door, but he also zoomed all the way across the yard. That's when I knew it, that's when I knew my Max was back.
My heart went out to him those two days, not knowing what the problem was, but thinking that it very well may have been a flashback and thinking how bad he must have had it before he was dumped. I was so glad when he was acting the way he always did again. Right now he's sleeping in Dave's chair, his favorite place to sleep. He's so cute when he has his zoom back.

And in the back yard.
