 Rather than continuing this blog, I am going to start a new one since we will not be living in Iowa anymore. I will update you here with a link to it.

Me in Iowa, Not Anymore

You may wonder why I haven't posted this year, or not. Anyway, the reason is because we have been in the process of moving. Dave bought an 18-foot utility trailer to haul stuff. This weekend we will be making our final trip.

Yep, you read that right. We bought a house in Pennsylvania. After we lost Molly, Dave decided that he didn't want to live here anymore because of all of the spraying of the fields they do. We're surrounded by fields of corn and soy, literally. He thinks that might have been the cause of her cancer. Iowa is second in the country for the cases of cancer and from what I read yesterday, while other states' rates are falling, Iowa's is rising. I'm sure that goes for pets too.

Back to what I was saying about moving. We bought the house in January and have been slowing moving in. We've also been taking Lucy with us to get her used to traveling. She's been pretty good and has loved meeting new people. She's becoming very well socialized.

After 30 years of feeling isolated, I also wanted to have closer neighbors. Our new ones are very friendly for the most part, especially the one to our left, he's been helping Dave move furniture and helping in other ways. The one behind us told us that if we ever need anything to just ask.
