Fields of Clover

This is the scene in a lot of the fields around here. It looks so gorgeous, I can just imagine what it looks like from the air with all that purple. I would love to be in an airplane flying over just to get a look. By the way, this picture was taken by me this morning on my way home from taking David to work.

A lot of farmers around here are growing red clover this year. Apparently it's good for putting nutrients back into the soil and for cattle. You see a lot of cattle around here.

I've read that red and white clover is eatable by humans. Some use it in salads and even boiled. Some even saute it. I would have to make sure it was really clean before I ate it, but it's supposed to be good for you. It's rich in many nutrients and other good things, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center and other sites I've read.

I don't know if I'll ever try it, but it is good to know that it's eatable. It's also really pretty to look at when a whole field is covered with it.
