Had a busy day on Saturday. Yesterday I was feeling like I may be coming down with something, so I didn't do much of anything.
Got the valances for our bedroom made on Saturday. They look really nice too and the best thing is that I don't have to change the curtains to match. I also paid as much to make two of them as it would have cost me to buy (two), correction:one made in the same pattern. Pretty good, huh? I was able to find a two and a half yard remnant of Ralph Lauren fabric in the complimentary pattern to the comforter I bought last year. I even have enough left over to make two pillow cases.
I also took the curtains and liners down to wash them, so now the only ones that need cleaning are the ones in the dining room. I asked Dave to hang up the ones in the one bedroom while I hung the ones in ours and put up the valances. It was funny, but when I went in later, I noticed that he had hung them upside down. They're the pocket rod kind, so you just have to skip the rod through the pocket. I guess he thought the lower pocket where they were hemmed was the pocket for the rod. That was okay though because I had to take them back down yesterday to attach the liners to the back of them since I only have one rod in that room, unlike the others, where I can hang them on a separate rod. Now all the windows, except the bathroom have liners behind the curtains, yep, even the one over the kitchen sink. I also made new curtains for it out of a cloth shower curtain. They turned out good too and the grommets were already in the top so that I was able to hang them without having to sew a pocket for the rod.
I guess next I'll sew the pillow cases out of the extra fabric I have left over from the valances. Those won't be too hard to do. I found a couple pillow shams on eBay that match the comforter that weren't an arm and a leg. Now I'm thinking of either buying or making a duvet cover for the comforter so that I won't have to take it to the laundry mat as often. Hopefully I'll be able to find one.
I need to get a move on here, so I'll see you all later. Have a great day. Oh yeah, I have a cute video that should bring a smile to your face, it's of Max doing his "Butt Scratch Boogie." :)
